THE ICM EXAM PROCESS
for General Agents or Insurance Adjuster applicants

The exam process is separate from the licence application process. The exam registrant will focus on meeting the educational standard by passing a pre-requisite examination, one of several requirements in the licensing process.

Requirements to register for the exam:

  1. 1.  Examination Registration Form: The registrant will complete and submit the Examination Registration Form to the ICM.

  2. 2.  Exam Fees: The exam fee must accompany the registration form. The $110.00 per exam can be in the form of cash, money order, company cheque or certified personal cheque. Credit card or debit payment is not available. This fee is non-refundable.

  3. 3.  Copy of Photo ID: A copy of government issued photo ID is required to be submitted with the registration form. This same ID must be brought to the ICM office the morning of the examination, and provided when requested to the exam registrar.

The ICM will contact the registrant to arrange the exam date upon receipt of the above three items.  The exam must be written within thirty (30) days of receipt of the three exam requirements by the ICM.

Exam Schedule:

Examinations are typically written at the ICM office every Tuesday. Alternate examination sitting date and time may be available to accomodate the registrant if arranged with the ICM.  The ICM office is located at 466 – 167 Lombard Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Notification of Exam Results:

Registrants will be provided with information on how to obtain their individual results.  These marks will be available on-line.  Additionally, comfirmation of the exam results will be forwarded via email to the individual.  Exam results will not be available by telephone.

Note that successful completion of the exam is one of the licensing requirements. To proceed with a licence application, view the information on the ICM website under  “Licensing Info”. Until a licence has been issued you cannot act as an agent/adjuster.
